On behalf of the teachers, administration and staff, I’d like to welcome you to Memorial Elementary School. I am excited that the school year has begun and I look forward to my first year as principal. Like your children and possibly some of you, I am proud to say that I attended Memorial Elementary School. It hasn’t changed very much. It still sparkles and remains a special place to be. The teachers and staff are bright, dedicated and full of life!

 

For those of you who are unfamiliar, Memorial Elementary School has a staff of seventy dedicated teachers, assistants, paraprofessionals, administrators and other service providers who work with a current population of 446 students. This year, we have a few new faces. We welcome Tara Cafarella, Kathleen Ballard and Kathi Reuter to the Grade 1 team and Lauren Innis to the Kindergarten team. Kim Chambless will be the new Title 1 reading teacher. Ivonne Pereira joins the ELL staff as the new ELL/ESL tutor. We also welcome Christine Umina who will be joining the Early Therapeutic Team and Dorothy Rock as the permanent building substitute.

The Memorial School staff works diligently to meet the principles of our mission and to provide the very best education possible for our students.  

 

We welcome and invite you to join us for what will be a very exciting and rewarding school year. We encourage each of you to become involved in your child’s education by joining our PTO and School Council. I want you to feel free to correspond with my office and your child(ren)’s teacher and join us for the many programs offered to our parents and children throughout the school year.
